Teachers drop the Holocaust to avoid offending...
When I was in school - if you didn't want to dissect the frog, you left class (and got an F). The class didn't stop dissecting the frogs.
Not exactly the same thing, but similar. If you didn't like it you left, the teacher didn't stop teaching something.
Of course, I had a football coach for one of my World History classes. And if you'd made derogatory comments about any ethnic group, he would've probably not only kicked you out of class but kicked your ass as well.
